Example trajectory
In order to represent the search for the solution of the test
example as a trajectory in the design state space, the trajectory
should start from the point (15,0) (15 active unassigned
parameters
and no constraint violation). Since the search was successful the
trajectory ends in the origin (0,0).
This trajectory can be divided into three parts related to three
basic phases of the CRO strategy used to solve the configuration
design problem:
- Phase Complete (creating an initial complete solution)
-
The trajectory points to the left. It is rising in
accordance with the number of constraint violations.
At
the end of this phase nine constraints are violated
(some of them are violated by several parameters). In
all
there are 45 constraint violations detected. The
trajectory ends this phase at the point (0,45).
- Phase Revise (looking for an acceptable solution)
-
The trajectory starts from the point (0,45) and ends
at
the point (0,0). It is parallel to the y-axis but it
does
not decrease in a monotone way. Its profile (the
number
of constraint violations after different correction
steps) is depicted in the figure.
- Phase Optimize (optimization of the acceptable solution)
-
The trajectory remains in the point (0,0).
